Subject: Usage of Forward Fuel Outlet
Fitting on F. Atlee dodge 30.5 Gallon LH
Fuel Tank
Model Affected: All PA-18 Series Aircraft
Statement of Difficulty: A report from the
field indicated the Forward Fuel Outlet
Fitting located on the LH Tank was not being
used. The forward fuel outlet line
must be connected in the same configuration
of the stock Piper PA18 Fuel system.
Compliance: Remove the LH Lower Center Wing
Root Panel, Piper Part Number 12274-00.
Inspect to ensure the Forward Fuel Outlet
Feed is connected to the Forward Header Tank
Vent Line, Part Number 11987-23.
Traceability of this line might require the
removal of the Front LH Side Windshield Trim
Strip, Part Number 12261-00. If the
fuel system is found to be in the correct
configuration, replace the Front LH Side
Windshield Trim Strip and lower the LH Lower
Center Wing Root Panel. If the LH
Forward Outlet Fitting is not being used,
refer to Piper PA18 Parts Manual for correct
Fuel Line configuration. Make a log
book entry complying with this Service
Bulletin.
